On June 11, press release 037/2013, issued by the Ministry of Finance, was published in which Mexico makes public the fact that it has asked to take part in the multilateral initiative for the automatic exchange of information in tax matters entered into by Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

On being incorporated into this initiative, Mexico will be the first non-European country that will be part of the initiative.

It is estimated that this application will be well received by members of the group taking part in this pilot initiative and thus shortly, Mexico will participate in its work and this will strengthen its auditing capacity and therefore its tax revenue.
