A Cleveland court recently ruled that Ohio employers are collectively owed $860 million in BWC premium overcharges. The court determined that the BWC charged certain non-group rated employers excessive premiums from 2001 to 2009, so that it could cover premium discounts that were given to companies that joined the BWC group insurance plans. The BWC plans to appeal the decision, which means immediate reimbursements aren’t likely.
