On 27 August 2013, the Central Bank published a regulatory notice on the adaptation of the existing Minimum Guarantee Fund (MGF) for reinsurers. The adaptation means an increase of the MGF for (non-captive) reinsurers from €3.4 million to €3.6 million. This will take effect on 31 December 2014 and apply to all annual and quarterly returns for reporting periods ending on or after that date. The MGF for captive reinsurers (€1.2 million) is not due to change. Notice C 208/4, requiring the adaptation in the MGF, was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 23 July 2013.
