The Office of Public Sector Information has published on its website, The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Exemption) (Amendment) Order 2009 (the Order).

The Order amends The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Exemption) Order 2001 (the principal order). The principal order exempts certain persons from the general prohibition set out in section 19 of The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, which provides that no person may carry on a regulated activity within the UK unless he is (a) an authorised person or (b) an exempt person. The Order amends the principal order by adding the Bank of England Asset Purchase Facility Fund Limited (the Company) to the list of persons in Part 1 of the Schedule. The Company will perform the regulated activity of dealing in investments as principal as described in article 14 of The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Regulated Activities) Order 2001 and may undertake other regulated activities.
