Effective from 1 March 2014, the threshold total annual remuneration for determining whether a member of council staff is a 'senior officer' for the purposes of the Local Government Act 1989 (the Act) has increased from $130,000 to $133,000.

As set out in the Act, the definition of 'senior officer' also includes the Chief Executive Officer and any member of council staff who has management responsibilities and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
