The EU Parliament published a press release on its adoption of the proposed Directive on criminal sanctions for insider dealing and market manipulation (CSMAD). The EU Commission welcomed Parliament's adoption of the rules and published FAQs on CSMAD. The EU Council will soon formally adopt the text of the CSMAD proposal. The CSMAD is expected to be published in the Official Journal of the EU (OJ) in June 2014. Member States will have two years to implement the CSMAD after publication in the OJ.
