Now that the public consultation stage of Donating sperm and eggs: Have your say has concluded, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) is currently analysing consultation responses alongside the results from meetings with focus groups.
The findings of the consultation will be presented over two open HFEA meetings this month and in October 2011.
The topics presented to HFEA members at the July meeting will cover the family limit, family donation and the changing landscape of donation sections of the consultation. The findings on compensation and benefits in kind will be presented for decision on 19 October 2011.
At HFEA, members discuss and determine policy and practice on a wide range of issues relating to its regulatory role, assisted conception treatments and human embryo research.
