In its Annual Performance Statement (Financial Regulation) 2012- 2013, the Central Bank of Ireland (the Bank) outlined its plans in relation to Corporate Governance. The report states that in 2013, the Bank will provide on-going advice on the implementation of the Corporate Governance Code. The report goes on to say that a review of the Corporate Governance Code for Credit Institutions and Insurance Undertakings will be carried out and an assessment of the update of the Corporate Governance Code for Funds will also take place. Finally the report states that the Bank will progress efforts to lobby the European Commission with a view to introducing a Corporate Governance Code for MiFID firms.
