In June 2013, the Home Office will launch its re-tendering exercise for approved secure English language test providers.
The re-tendering exercise will affect secure English language tests for:
- Tiers 1, 2, and 4 of the Points-Based System; and
- spouses and partners of British citizens and persons settled in the UK.
Changes to the list of test providers will be effective from 6 April 2014.
Below are some of the requirements to be met by those applying to become a test provider:
- have established test centres in at least 40 different countries;
- have the capacity to provide at least 2,400 tests per year; and
have a secure online verification system for use by the Home Office that meets the requirements as set out in the document entitled 'Secure English Language Testing Verification Website
