Last night at the final debate before Super Tuesday, the four Republican Presidential candidates were asked about the EPA's decision to deny California's waiver on greenhouse gas emissions from automobiles. Sen. McCain (R-AZ) was the first one asked and responded with this, "I'm a federalist, and I believe the states should decide to enormous degrees what happens within those states…..I applaud the governor's efforts and that of other states in this region and other states across America to try to eliminate the greenhouse gas emissions that are causing climate change." The other 3 candidates voiced similar responses in favor of California. It is expected that Gov. Schwarzenegger (R-CA) will endorse Sen. McCain within the next couple of days.
