Today, the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited 3,350 applicants with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 470 or higher to apply for permanent residence. While the number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) has remained steady at 3,350 for most of 2019, the CRS score skyrocketed 20 points higher than the last general Express Entry draw.
Usually, a draw takes place every two weeks however today's draw was the first all-inclusive Express Entry invitation round since the 1st of May. The 3,350 ITAs brings 2019's total to 35,100.
Today’s draw marks the 117th round of invitations since Express Entry came into force and with that, IRCC has applied its tie-breaking rule with the time stamp of May 23, 2019, at 10:18:56 UTC. This simply means that all candidates with a CRS score of 470 or above, and previous candidates with a score of 470 or above who entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before the selected tie-breaking date and time, will receive an invitation in this round.
