The Digital Competition Expert Panel, appointed by HM Treasury to examine competition in the digital economy, has published its report "Unlocking digital competition". Amongst its recommendations, the report calls for the establishment of a new digital markets unit that would seek to drive data portability among technology platforms, tackling data barriers for businesses and providing consumers greater control of their data.
