The European Commission has approved the granting of PLN 545 million (c. € 130 million) in State aid to Międzynarodowe Przedsiębiorstwo Rurociągowe Sarmatia. The State aid is for developing the part of the Brody-Adamowo oil pipeline that is within Poland.

This forms part of a project to connect the Ukrainian oil pipeline, Odessa-Brody, to Płock (Poland), with the possibility of extending it further to Gdańsk (Poland) or Schwedt (Germany).

Sarmatia is a company with its seat in Poland. Its shareholders are from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine.

The State aid is funded from Poland’s ‘Infrastructure and Environment’ programme and the main aim of the State aid is to increase the security of Poland’s oil supply by diversifying delivery routes.
