A federal district court in Pittsburgh sentenced Charles E. Rocha, a former director of the United Steelworkers’ political department who admitted to embezzling from the union, to 24 months probation. An 18-count indictment filed in September 2012 had charged Rocha with misuse of a union credit card for personal trips and falsification of entries on reimbursement vouchers. In addition to probation, and on top of prior restitution, Rocha was fined $2,000 and barred from serving as a labor union officer or agent for 13 years.
