On September 25, 2009, the Commission issued a $4,000 Forfeiture Order against a Springfield, Massachusetts licensee for willfully violating the Commission's rules requiring that stations announce all material terms of a caller contest and conduct the contest in accordance with those terms. The Commission found that the station did not "conduct a broadcast contest substantially as announced" because it delivered a cash prize to the winner almost a month after the date of delivery promised to the winner. Additionally, the station had failed to deliver the Aerosmith memorabilia prize that was also contained in the terms of the contest until seven months after the contest ended. The Forfeiture Order is available here.
