The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) has published guidance on cyber-security in the context of corporate finance transactions. The publication sets out practical steps to be taken by individuals involved in corporate finance transactions to protect themselves from cyber-risks.

The guidance also aims to raise awareness of the issues, threats and areas of vulnerability around cyber-security and it demonstrates that cyber-risk is another business risk to be considered and managed by companies.

It includes a useful phase by phase guide to a typical corporate finance transaction, highlighting the potential issues at each stage and suggesting steps to be taken to minimise the risk.
