The Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) has published a set of remedies in relation to Dwr Cymru's abuse of a dominant position. On 7 November 2008 the CAT ruled that Dwr Cymru, the Welsh water and sewerage provider, abused its dominant position in the market by quoting excessive and unfair prices to Albion Water Limited (Albion). In a recent judgment related to remedies and costs, the CAT has ordered Dwr Cymru to offer a new common carriage price to ensure its prices are not anticompetitive. The CAT did not make any recommendation in relation to the bulk supply price as there had been no finding of infringement in relation to this. The CAT also concluded that setting a minimum retail margin would be inappropriate. Albion's legal expenses will be paid by the Water Services Regulation Authority and Dwr Cymru.
