The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office will hold the Texas Regional Independent Inventors Conference at the University of Texas at Austin on September 14-15, 2012. The event “will provide inventors and innovators with education from intellectual property experts in their respective fields and practical advice from successful inventors.”
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office invites public comment on the estimated time and expense burdens for those submitting complaints about invention promoters and for invention promoters to respond to the complaints. Comments are requested by October 9, 2012.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issues a final rule that implements miscellaneous post patent provisions of the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act. The changes amend 37 CFR parts 1, 5, 10, 11, and 41, which, among other matters, involve “the scope of information that any party may cite in a patent file [including] written statements of a patent owner filed in a proceeding before a Federal court or the United States Patent and Trademark Office (Office) regarding the scope of any claim of the patent.”
