Two northeast legislators have announced a hearing on property tax reform. Senator Dave Argall, RBerks and State Rep. Doyle Heffley, R-Carbon issued a statement saying that the August 11 event will feature members of the House and Senate Policy and Finance Committees to discuss various plans to reduce and eliminate property taxes as well as steps the General Assembly took this spring with property tax reform initiatives.

"Representative Heffley and I have legislation that will allow voters to decide on property taxes. We want to hear taxpayers' ideas and how they would like to reform this archaic system to fund our public schools," Argall said in a statement . "We are bringing in various members from the General Assembly to listen and discuss proposals as well as shed light on measures we have taken this year."
