The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) continues to accept H-1B petitions. Per the latest published count, the number of petitions submitted under the 65,000 cap is nearing 50,000. While it is impossible to predict when the processing pipeline will fill up, an expeditiously filed H-1B petition still has a chance for approval under the cap. The government has received 20,000 H-1B petitions for holders of U.S. graduate degrees, but continues to accept these filings as well on the premise that not all of the petitions received are approvable. Discuss your interest in H-1B workers' hiring and planning for temporarily employed foreign students and prospective hires with your immigration counsel as soon as possible.
