On February 16, 2022, British Columbia’s Provincial Health Officer amended the January 20, 2022 Workplace Safety Order to eliminate the requirement that workers must be permitted to work from home to the extent feasible. This revision tracks the province’s easing of restrictions generally.

The remainder of the Workplace Safety Order remains in effect, and while employers may now generally require workers to return to the workplace, employers must still implement other steps to minimize the transmission of COVID-19. Among other things, COVID-19 Safety Plans must remain in place and masks continue to be required in indoor common areas.
