Target marketing at its finest, Commune Hotels & Resorts (the child of the Joie de Vivre Hospitality and Thompson Hotels merger in 2010) announced their new brand, Tommie Hotels, today. Targeted at “globetrotting millennials” the Tommie Hotels cater to a younger, hipper crowd. The first two locations are already in development in New York City. With room rates around $250 in the big apple, it may shake up that high occupancy, high rate market. You can read more about the new brand here.
