• The USCIS's most recent published count indicates that approximately 62,500 H-1B cap-subject petitions have been accepted for processing towards the annual 65,000 H-1B cap. Once the cap is reached, no new H-1B filings would be accepted until April 1, 2010, for an earliest U.S. employment start date of Oct. 1, 2010. For now, the USCIS continues to accept H-1B filings - you should rush in your petitions for a chance of having your new foreign workers begin employment prior to Fall 2010.
  • The USCIS has announced creation of a general inquiry mailbox for residents of Canada. To date, Canadian citizens have been unable to access the U.S. National Customer Service Center through the toll-free number available to U.S. residents. The change allows Canadians to inquire with the USCIS at USCIS.Canada@dhs.gov
