The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that the Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 (Rev. 02/02/09) currently available on the USCIS web site will continue to be valid beyond its planned expiration date of June 30, 2009.

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is in the process of reviewing the continued use of the current version of the Form I-9 (Rev. 02/02/09). If OMB approves its continued use, the revision and expiration dates will be updated. USCIS advises that employers will then be able to use either the new version of the form with the updated revision date or the current version of the form with the 02/02/09 revision date. Employers should continue to use Form I-9 (Rev. 02/02/09) until OMB makes its decision.
