Debbie Purdy, in a landmark victory in the House of Lords, won the right to be told under what circumstances her husband could be prosecuted if he accompanied her to ‘Dignitas’ euthanasia clinic in Switzerland.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is now required to provide an offence-specifi c policy identifying the facts and circumstances that he would take into account in deciding whether to consent to a prosecution.
