The ACCC has received an extra $68.5m over four years in funding in the 2014-2015 Federal Budget to oversee consumer complaints during the repeal of the carbon tax and $1.4 million over four years to enforce the extension of unfair contract provisions to B2B.

The ACCC’s portfolio will also increase.  The ACCC is to become responsible for the insurance price monitoring functions, currently the responsibility of the Private Health Insurance Administration Council.  The National Competition Council Secretariat will also transfer to the ACCC.
