The Securities and Exchange Commission announced that, in fiscal year 2019, it awarded US $60 million awards to eight persons who provided information that led to successful enforcement actions. Awards under the SEC’s whistleblower program are available to eligible persons who voluntarily make original information available that is used in SEC enforcement actions that result in monetary sanctions in excess of US $1 million or related actions. Awards range from 10 to 30 percent of collected monetary sanctions.
