On January 5, 2009, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) published a notice in the Federal Register requesting public comments on the effects of export controls on decisions of foreign manufacturers to use or not use U.S.-origin parts and components in commercial products.
