The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) has announced that starting this month it is initiating an industry survey to help guide its updating of the Series 6, 16, 24 and 26 qualification examinations.  FINRA will be gathering information from currently licensed individuals about their roles, responsibilities and job functions so that the exams more accurately track the associated persons' responsibilities.

The Series 16 is for supervisory analysts, the 24 is the general securities principal exam, the 26 qualifies principals for mutual fund and variable annuity sales, and the Series 6 is for representatives who sell funds and variable annuities.

FINRA will be sending surveys to personnel who maintain one or more of these registrations.  If you maintain any of these registrations, you may receive a request to participate in FINRA’s survey analyzing your day-to-day job duties.  While you are not required to participate, FINRA “encourages encourages survey recipients to participate to help ensure that examination content accurately reflects the jobs they perform.”
