The 2017 data for ASHE (SOC 2000) 6115; wages of care workers, home carers and senior care workers has been published, together with the revised 2016 data.

The statistics show that carers' wages are at an all-time high.

The key points to note are as follows:-

The revised 2016 data includes revised figures for the 75th, 80th and 90th centiles.

There has been an average increase across the centiles, including the median, of 4.03%1.

Once again, workers in the lower centiles have received higher percentage increases than those in the higher centiles, namely the 75th, 80th and 90th centiles.

By comparison, the Retail Prices Index increased by 3.52% and the Consumer Prices Index increased by 2.65% between April 2016 and April 2017.
