The FCA has published a discussion paper to provide an opportunity for firms and consumers to discuss the meaning of fairness when considering changes to terms of a regulated mortgage contract. The paper reviews the current regulatory framework, consumers’ experiences and expectations of the market and the options for change, such as introducing new rules to provide that additional information must be provided to a customer in the event of a change or restricting the changes which could be made. The deadline for comments is 30 September 2014.
