The Supreme Court has upheld the decision of the Court of Appeal regarding the calculation of the limitation period within which a claim of unfair dismissal must be brought (three months from the date of dismissal). The Supreme Court held that for these purposes, the effective date of termination is the date on which an employee reads a letter that dismisses them, not the date on which the letter was written, posted or delivered to the employee.
