On 10 January 2007, the Pensions Regulator published new guidelines for employers, trustees and pension scheme administrators in relation to the general levy, which is payable by trustees of occupational pension schemes. The guidelines provide comprehensive information and advice, including an explanation of how the levy is calculated, how trustees can update the Register of Occupational and Personal pension Schemes (as now maintained by the Pensions Regulator) and how to apply for a waiver. The guidelines also include frequently asked questions and provide a link to the PPF website for details of the PPF’s risk-based levy.
