From Saturday 24 July 2021, the minimum entitlement to sick leave increases from 5 to 10 days in each entitlement year.

New employees will be entitled to 10 days’ sick leave after they have completed 6 months’ current continuous employment with the employer. For existing employees, the entitlement will increase to 10 days when they next become entitled to sick leave.

Also from tomorrow, an employee may carry over up to 10 days’ unused sick leave to a maximum of 20 days’ entitlement in any year.
