On March 29th, a federal District Court dismissed all but certain Commodity Exchange Act claims brought in the consolidated cases stemming from the alleged manipulation of the London Interbank Offered Rate. The antitrust claims were dismissed for failure to plead an antitrust injury and the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act claims were dismissed as barred by the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act and because the complaint inappropriately alleged a foreign RICO enterprise.
