The ACCC issued a final determination granting authorisation to Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) for an agreement to acquire fixed odds management services from Sportingbet for five years. Under the agreement Sportingbet will provide RWWA with risk management information and will manage RWWA’s fixed odds books.
Authorisation was granted for five years. The ACCC concluded that the conduct is likely to result in public benefits that will outweigh any likely public detriments arising from the conduct. Specifically, the agreement is likely to generate public benefits in the form of improved efficiency in the provision of wagering services, which, in turn, will result in increased competition in the wagering industry, and a broader range of wagering products available to consumers. The ACCC considers the agreement is not likely to result in any significant public detriments over the next five years.
