The EU Directive on Consumer Rights came into effect under German national law on 13 June 2014. In particular, the Directive brought changes to the law on door-to-door deals and long-distance transactions. Ulf Liebelt-Westphal and Thies Goldner analyse the consequences of these changes for off-site land use agreements concerning the construction and operation of onshore wind farms and conclude that an instruction on the consumer’s right of withdrawal is unlikely to be required for these type of agreements in the future.
