On June 18, 2010, APHIS announced that it has lifted the temporary restrictions and additional testing requirements for the importation of sexually intact bovines from British Columbia, Canada. The restrictions were put in place on May 25, 2010 in response to the importation of three cows that were found to be reactors for brucellosis. APHIS’s decision is based on technical and epidemiological information received from Canada following a comprehensive investigation with respect to the bacterial disease.
