With a referendum on the UK's membership of the European Union (EU) taking place on 23 June 2016, how ready are UK businesses for a possible Brexit?
We commissioned a recent survey of more than 200 UK-based businesses. The survey, which was carried out by Legal Business, revealed that:
- most of the respondent companies' Boards have not yet formally considered the impact of a Brexit on their activities, although many said it is on the agenda for future discussion;
- only a very small number of the companies surveyed have announced a public position, with the rest either taking no formal stance or not disclosing their views.
A special report in the February 2016 edition of Legal Business sets out the results of the survey in more detail and examines the views of the survey respondents, who include general counsel, regional counsel and chief executives of UK-based businesses.
