The mail date for the 2010 Cook County first installment tax bills is Monday, January 31, 2011 (according to the Cook County Treasurer's website). The Illinois legislature passed a law that changes the due date of the 2010 first installment to April 1, 2011, one month later than the usual due date of March 1, 2011. Taxpayers should understand that this is a one-time change only and is due to the fact that the 2009 second installment tax bills were mailed late in 2010.

You may pay your taxes under the following methods:

  • By mail;
  • In person at the downtown Cook County Building;
  • At more than 300 Chase Banks throughout the Chicagoland area;
  • At more than 200 participating Community Banks (see for a list of participating banks); or
  • Make on online payment via the Cook County Treasurer's website.
