VicRoads has charged trucking company Cootes Transport (Cootes) with 67 counts of operating unsafe heavy vehicles under state road safety laws, following the October 2013 fuel tanker collision in Mona Vale, NSW and a VicRoads-initiated investigation of Cootes' safety practices.

According to an ABC News report on 23 June 2014, Cootes could be fined up to $96,000 in total if found guilty of the offences.
