On September 30th, the CFTC's Division of Market Oversight provided guidance to market participants regarding commodity options. The guidance includes general information regarding CFTC regulation of commodity options; general information regarding filing CFTC Form TO (unreported trade options); and answers to various technical questions regarding Form TO, trade options reporting, and CFTC Letter 13-08 (granting no-action relief from certain reporting and recordkeeping provisions of Section 32.3(b) of the CFTC's regulations for end users eligible for the trade option exemption).CFTC Press Release.
