Gov. John Kasich has named Todd Snitchler, a Republican state lawmaker from Stark County, to head the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO). Snitchler is currently in his second term as a state representative and was recently named chairman of the House Public Utilities Committee. He has also served on the House Alternative Energy Committee.

Snitchler's appointment to the unexpired term of former Chairman Alan Schriber will have to be confirmed by the Ohio Senate, a step considered a formality. The term ends in April 2014. To read more, visit the (Cleveland) Plain Dealer Web site.
