On December 13, 2007, the Office of Management and Budget launched a searchable website that provides the public with access to a database containing information regarding Government contracts, grants, and other awards. The database includes the name and location of the entities receiving the awards, the amounts of the awards, and other information such as the transaction types and the funding agencies. Searches can be conducted using the names of contractors or contracting agencies, the locations of performance, the products or services being purchased, the level of competition permitted during the bidding process, and other criteria. The website is located at www.USASpending.gov.
