How do I assess whether an Irish regulated fund is in scope to produce a PRIIP KID from 1 January 2018?
The EU Regulation on Key Information Documents for Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products (EU1286/2014) (the PRIIPs Regulation) will take effect on 1 January 2018. A Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Product (a PRIIP) which is made available to retail investors within the EEA after 1 January 2018 must prepare a key investor document (a PRIIP KID). Irish regulated collective investment schemes, RIAIFs, PIFs, QIAIFs and UCITS, are products which may fall within the definition of a PRIIP.
