UKBA has announced that it is introducing new arrangements for skilled workers who arrived in the UK under work routes that have now closed. This means they will now be able to extend their stay in the UK to a total of five years if they meet the requirements.
Individuals that fall within the closed worker route categories but fell short of the necessary five years required to qualify for indefinite leave to remain can now extend their leave to meet the requirements. The additional leave to remain will be free of charge. UKBA will publish the T2 (W) application form on its website in early August 2011 for those that wish to apply.
