Beale & Company acted for engineering, design and consultancy company Ramboll on its acquisition of DEG Signal.

DEG Signal is a specialist rail signalling business providing consultancy and design services for both mainline rail and metro systems. They work with clients such as TfL, Network Rail, Thales, Ansaldo, Amey and Siemens and have recently completed projects including the concept design for an alternative signalling protection system on London Overground interoperable lines and are also working on the Thameslink Resilience Project, primarily on the Brighton Main Line.

Commenting on the acquisition, Agnieszka Skrzynska, Ramboll’s Head of Legal, said:

"Ramboll has recently acquired a specialist UK rail signalling business, DEG Signal Ltd. Thanks to the professional support by James Hutchinson of Beale & Company, the transaction has been completed smoothly, on time and with all parties being fully satisfied.

Acquisitions can provide a lot of challenges, with ambitious timescales, complex documentation and personal sensitivities. James’ assistance and expertise was instrumental in this process, with prompt responses, excellent client manner and pragmatic approach."
