IMCO, the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection in EP, has called for an EP resolution on the review of the Consumer Credit Directive (CCD). It argues that, rather than amending CCD, priority should be given to ensuring it is correctly transposed and enforced. It notes a number of areas which Member States have transposed late, or in different ways, some of which it says have caused problems. It calls on the Commission to present to EP and Council an assessment report on the implementation of CCD and its impact in consumer protection.
