Local authorities have been targeted by the Anaerobic Digestion & Biogas Association (ADBA) in a forthcoming best practice guide. ADBA’s chairman Lord Redesdale said the guidance will outline how the long-term benefits of investment in anaerobic digestion plant will outweigh the short-to-medium term procurement costs. AD has the capacity to produce 20 per cent of the UK’s domestic gas. A new £3m AD plant in Lancashire will start producing electricity from June this year.
