Recent reports suggest that Swiss transportation firm Panalpina Welttransport will enter into a settlement in the amount of $85 million (USD) with the DOJ in connection with an investigation into violations of the FCPA. More particularly, the company had been accused of bribing officials in Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Algeria and Kazakhstan to facilitate customs clearances. Evidently, Panalpina had set aside $133 million (USD) to resolve these issues.
